The best articles on military subjects I read (or listened to) in the past week
In the past week, I read three fine essays of a theoretical bent:
War = Problem Solving explains the rationale behind decision-forcing cases, Kriegspiel exercises, and other games of that ilk.
My Military Philosophy, 2024 shares wisdom gleaned from many years of service along the borderlands that connect military matters to statecraft.
Arms of the Present has convinced me to adopt the policy, made famous by Marshall McCluhan, of limiting my predictions to things that have already happened.
At the same time, I enjoyed two posts about flying robots, both of which appeared on the indispensable Bazaar of War: A Look Back at the Nagorno-Karabakh War and Q&A with Marlinspike. (The latter also looks into the Ukrainian incursion west of Kursk.)
On the latter subject, I learned a great deal from The Forest and the Trees
