‘Of course. But, there are times when I cannot avoid it. Consider the series on the thoughts of Wallace Brett Donham. He never served a day in uniform. But he begins Education for Responsible Living with a discussion of the programs that sent American servicemen to college during World War II. Should I have skipped that?’
‘I take your point.’
‘And, if you’ll forgive the tu quoque, they’ve been times when articles appearing in The Tactical Notebook have strayed into my territories.’
‘You refer, I presume, to recent pieces about the applicatory method?’
‘Among others.’
‘Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.’
‘So what shall we do about this … tendency to trespass.’
‘I could encourage my readers to read Extra Muros.’
‘And I could suggest that my readers to peruse The Tactical Notebook.’
‘After all, the guy we inspire these days spent his life along the borderlands that separate our realms.’
‘And connect them as well.’
