Motti is the most amazing military achievement of the 20th century. Once is a brilliant innovation that can partially be ascribed to luck or surprise, this was an entire campaign.

Now extend the concept of segmentation into small parts isolated and swarmed on or surrounded and besieged to *any* linear objective or defense.

*EXTEND THE CONCEPT *

And FFFF the Big Arrows gimme lots of small ones.

See also Western Front Australian army “peaceful penetration” tactics of WW1. They just kept infiltrating around and from behind German defensive positions and so taking them out in little nibbles- that in aggregate eroded the German defenses significantly and certainly with little casualties.

Looking at WW1, the Ukraine now, or any number of pointless bloodbaths.... anyone drawing Big Arrows should be corrected harshly.

Possibly Stalin level harshness. A good stint in a penal battalion as forlorn hope might do wonders for our leadership, and improve morale and morals.

As in; you will lead your unit in the front echelon. If you execute a Corps sized attack, the 3 star can lead. Etc...

Thank you for positing this. I'm a huge fan of our mutual friends at Osprey. (I did a couple of books with them in the 'oughties and found them wonderful to work with.)
