I assume the road is sighted, and the lead platoon is now visible to enemy observers, so the other platoons are in trouble in that canyon. I order those who haven't been hit to run W off the road as a matter of priority then get on the ground; once we've taken stock, assuming the artillery hasn't been lucky enough to effectively wipe us out with the first barrage I order us to advance north, spread out, with a view to getting on top of the small hill and seeing what the Germans have prepared for us.
