I like the Wikipedia model- asking for donations. Paywalls can deter people from accessing content. It really depends how much revenue you are looking for-
You write so many interesting and short little pieces. They get people hooked. Then, the juicy, longer pieces become something people are happy to pay for.
If you put new content behind the paywall then that probably ought to give access to archived content as well. You could consider a tiered paywall system/levels of subscriptions (retirees, students, active duty/reserve, veterans, etc) but it complicates what you will probably want to be a simple system for the sake of your own time management. How much do you want to juggle? Simplicity is a virtue, IMPO.
If you intend to monetise it more deeply, you might consider cross-connecting it to an online community platform at some point .
How about $10/ quarter? You're worth a lot more than that, so if you put a price out there, maybe you'd get less than folks are willing to offer. You might want to start with a sort of "go fund me" approach -- "please give what you can" -- and see what happens. Then you can adjust from there. I'm a retired Lt Col on a fixed income, so $10/ month might be in my budget; $20 or $30/ month is definitely not. So . . . how about $35/ year? Just a thought. My warmest regards to you Mr. Gudmundsson. Don Hanle

At least $10.
Would that be $10 a month or $10 a year?
