Each regiment has two battalions of four companies each, and an additional, or ninth company.

Regimental staff:

• 1 colonel, entitled to 1 servant, 2 grooms, and 3 horses.

• 1 lieutenant colonel, entitled to 1 servant, 1 groom, and 2 horses.

• 1 adjutant (first lieutenant), entitled to 1 servant, 1 groom, and 2 horses.

• 1 clerk (sergeant)

• 4 servants

• 37 musicians

• 4 grooms

• 1 driver

Battalion staff:

• 1 major, entitled to 1 servant, 2 grooms, and

• 3 horses.

• 1 adjutant (first lieutenant), entitled to 1 servant, 1 groom, and 2 horses.

• 1 surgeon, entitled to 1 servant, 1 groom, and 1 horse.

• 1 assistant surgeon, entitled to 1 servant, 1 groom, and 1 horse.

• 1 paymaster (officer)

• 1 paymaster candidate (NCO)

• 1 drummer sergeant

• 1 clerk

• 1 quartermaster sergeant with 1 horse

• 3 drivers with 6 horses

• 5 grooms

Company Organization:

• 1 captain with one servant & one horse.

• 1 first lieutenant with 1 servant & 1 horse.

• 3 second lieutenants with 3 servants & 3 horses.

• 1 first sergeant

• 1 second sergeant

• 4 sergeants

• 10 other NCOs

• 18 lance corporals

• 158 privates plus 4 field musicians,

• 1 armorer

• 1 cyclist

• 3 drivers

• 1 groom

• 1 hospital steward.

Uniform does not differ materially from that already described. Armament and equipment are also practically the same.
