Have you seen the account and the movie of the Danish Troops in April 1940? The bicycle machine gun Danish unit fought, last to surrender.

I can respect this...

I’m not keen to try.

If I can’t ride and am on leg power I really want to sneak around in the bushes or woods, not both!

True, but with all the respect in the world, that was in Denmark in the spring, not Russia in the winter. Few roads, rough terrain, lots (and lots) of ❄️❄️❄️ and abundant enemies.

Hi Prof. Gudmundsson,

I was rooting for a point of main effort centered on Cholm, but now I realize that such a solution would leave the left flank of the 216 Inf. Div. hanging in thin air.

Do you think that Major General Völckers took other units from the XXXIX Corps into consideration for choosing the 78th's point of main effort?
