Suspect this'll be superfluous for readers of this newsletter, but, just in case, Douglas Nash wrote a remarkable book following the history of a Volksgrenadier division in really incredible detail, using a very rich collection of archival sources. Would recommend to anyone even slightly interested in the subject of late-war Wehrmacht formations.
