A lot of new readers have subscribed to the Tactical Notebook in the past week. Thus, at the risk of subjecting old timers to redundant, duplicative, and superfluous information, I would like to take a moment to explain some ways in which the Tactical Notebook differs from many of the other fine blogs hosted by Substack.
Tactical Notebook is a collection of more than five hundred articles about “the armies at are, the armies that were, and the armies that might have been.” It thus contains more in the way of evergreen content than the vast majority of blogs on Substack.
While each article posted to Tactical Notebook is designed for easy reading on a smart phone, the publication as a whole has been designed for reading on larger devices. For this reason, I suggest that readers who wish to get the most of Tactical Notebook bookmark its home page on their browsers.
To help you find articles that interest you, the Tactical Notebook makes extensive use of “aggregators.” These are pages that contain links to articles of particular kinds.
You can find links to aggregators on the navigation bar beneath the masthead.
You can also find links to currently active aggregators arrayed below.
