On some days, subscribers to the Tactical Notebook will see three, four, or even five new articles in their inboxes. On other days, there will be but one.
The chief reason for this peculiar pattern of posting is my policy of reviewing each post for accuracy. If all the reviews go well, then many articles will see the light of day. If, however, I run into a problem that can only be resolved with a good deal of research, then the publication of that article may be delayed by several days. If, moreover, I run into several such problems, the result is a day full of what folks in the radio business call “dead air.”
Today was such a day. Two articles that I thought would be easy to prepare for publication needed a great deal of research, and so I am behind schedule. Moreover, as this backlog may take more than a day to resolve, Monday and Tuesday of this week may end up being “single article days.”
When such days happen, I encourage readers in search of something interesting to read to explore the Tactical Notebook archive. Even though this Substack has been in operation for less than three months, you are sure to find something of value there.
