You find some of the best fine art to go with these articles.
Have you thought about publishing a coffee-table book of the artwork with short historical takes or explanations of them? If it's int he public domain you won't have to pay to use the art, and if a museum owns it they'd likely want a licensing fee but a publisher could negotiate that.
That would be a fun project. It's been thirty years since someone did something like that for Detaille, and that was a reprint of a work from the late 1880s. Thus, a new volume could showcase all of the painting that Detaille did in the twenty years between 1890 and 1910.
The Why… in Texas and why Authoritarian leaders must say why … or… or what?
The people who know why cannot tell the people who don’t.
WHY FAILS; There has to be time and context. Context isn’t possible until after combat is personally experienced.
Absent context… “why?” is a waste of precious and irreplaceable time.
Especially to those who haven’t context, because the “why” isn’t comprehensible … and worse the people who DO understand why are some sort of living, incarnate unbearable slight upon the manhood and authority of they who have no experience.
Which is why combat veterans are taciturn.
Usually.
We’re far from inarticulate, our mere presence is unbearable never mind the unforgivable affront of speaking.
If it wasn’t for my tortured conscience I’d be silent too…

Have a nice day. Hope the “why” is clarified.
