If you have been reading The Tactical Notebook for a while, you may have noticed citations that bear links to digital copies of the sources in question. You may also have observed that, while some of these links will take you to large online libraries, (such as the Internet Archive, Gallica, or the Münchener Digitalisierungs Zentrum Digitale Bibliothek) others will take you to the (downright minuscule) Military Learning Library.
The last-named repository, which I run myself, began its existence as a discussion forum. As a result, I am only able to use it to store files that weigh less than five megabytes. This, in turn, means that many of the resources uploaded to the Military Learning Library are “low res” versions of the digital files that dwell upon my hard drive. I have therefore decided to make the “high res” versions of these files available to paid subscribers.
To request a higher quality copy of a file, please send a message to OnInfantry@gmail.com that includes both the e-mail address associated with your paid subscription and the link to the Military Learning Library file in question.
You may use the same method to request digital copies of many of the Foreign Military Studies reports and US National Archives microfilm reels that I cite. (Please note that, every once in a while, I from paper copies made in days of yore. Thus, I may not be able to provide high quality digital versions of all such documents.)
Does the German source ( Münchener Digitalisierungs Zentrum Digitale Bibliothek) have a way of translating the pages found into English?
