Decision Game Club
Online engagement of decision-forcing cases
The Three Musketeers (also known as Kathleen, Kevin, and Bruce) cordially invite readers who have taken out paid subscriptions to this newsletter to take part in the online decision games of the Decision Game Club.
As a rule, these one-hour Zoomdezvous take place twice each Saturday. Thus, participants enjoy two opportunities - one at noon and one at eight in the evening - to discuss the decision-forcing case study for that week.
Most of the time, these decision games take the form of decision-forcing case studies, exercises in which participants take on the role of a real-world leader who, at some point in the past, found himself dealing with an especially challenging dilemma. Every once in a while, however, we work through a problem with fictional elements. These include tactical decision games engaged by students in military schools of the past.
To participate, send a request to join our mailing list to thecasemethodclub@gmail.com. Once on the ‘distro’, you will receive a weekly announcement that includes:
a description of the upcoming case
preparatory materials (such as an article, video, or podcast episode)
log-in instructions
People unfamiliar with games of this sort sometimes find it helpful to observe for several minutes before jumping in. Indeed, as a rule, the facilitator will welcome new visitors with an invitation to watch others play before jumping into the game.
